Frequently asked questions

Can I be listed as a doula on www.findadoula.com.au?
Of course. If you are a certified doula you can register your details here. If you are a doula-in-training you can also register, just say that you are a student doula in your profile details.

How do I become a doula?

We often receive enquiries from women wishing to become a doula. Great! With 250,000 babies born in Australia every year we need more doulas! Following are some organisations in Australia and overseas that run doula training courses. If you would like a personal recommendation, contact some of the doulas listed on findadoula.com.au to see if they were happy with the doula training organisation that they went with.

Birth Right: the only Australian doula training course that is offered by a midwife. Susan Ross’ course is also unique in that trainee doulas attend births with Susan. What a way to learn from an experienced woman.

Once you have edited your registration form, don’t forget to click “save edits”.

Facebook links… do not include “www.facebook.com/” only add in your page name or the part that comes after.com/

I have registered but I can’t find my doula profile yet.

Once you have filled in your rego form, you will be sent an automated email that requires validation. Click on the validation link and your profile will automatically be live. You will not be able to see your profile until you have validated your registration. If you don’t receive this email within a few minutes, check in your bulk email or spam box.
