About / Bio
I am a mother of 4 children and my interest in pregnancy, childbirth, babies & mums began as I prepared to start my own family. My belief is that if women are well informed, supported and encouraged that the outcome of their birth will leave them with a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction regardless of whether the birth is a natural birth or a medical one. In my working life I have a background in nursing and have worked in a variety of care settings over the past 20 years including post-natal care. I am also currently studying the education requirements to eventually become a lactation consultant. It is such a privilege and honour to be involved with women and their families at this time of their lives. Watching as they unfold the mystery of their pregnancy and new born is such an amazing journey to be a part of.
Being my first pregnancy and birth I was nervous and scared about the whole labour process but Clare provided both physical and emotional support throughout my pregnancy and labour for both my husband and I. She provided the female link in the labour process and kept me calm and strong when I thought I couldn't go on. While my husband was able to concentrate on communicating and supporting me, Clare provided overall relief using a variety of techniques
I provide informational, physical and emotional support to you and your partner throughout your pregnancy and birth. I have extensive post-natal experience and am available to assist with establishing breast feeding, overcoming problems with feeding, assistance with settling your baby and adjusting to your new role as a parent.
