Australian Doula College
About / Bio
I am a Doula offering women birth support during one of the most precious times of a woman's life
"Having interviewed a number of doulas, I was beginning to doubt whether it was the right thing for us. But when my husband and I met Sia we knew that she was the one. She was open minded and focused all her energies on helping us realise our birth plan. Not only did she have many ideas for managing the labour and gaining the best possible experience from the birth, but she also gave us lots of advice as to how to prepare for the baby in our lives. Since the birth, Sia has continued to offer her support and warmth. One memorable thing she did for us was to write her reflections on the labour. She channelled all the positive experiences from the 35 hour labour and made it all the more memorable for us. This is something we'll share with our baby daughter in the future.....I have nothing but positive memories about how Sia lifted our spirts and helped disperse the pain. I had an active labour and Sia was there every step of the way. Afterwards she visited us in hospital and at home to check that we were okay..... Leaving the hospital can be a huge transition, but with Sia there we felt that we weren't left alone". Thalia, Lilyfield "Sia was our doula for the recent birth of our third daughter. My husband was very strong willed and chose not to have her present at the actual birth but Sia was absolutely wonderful in preparing us for the labour and the birth. Her support was invaluable and it certainly would have been a different birth had we not had her as part of our experience. She was also invaluable following the birth and encouraging us with our new born. Her skills and tips were so welcome." Maria, Alfords Point.
